Rupal Verma
Policy Analyst II
Rupal Verma is a policy analyst II with the Economic Law and Policy program. She specializes in sustainability standards, focusing on implementing and integrating private sustainability standards to foster sustainable value chains.
Prior to IISD, Rupal worked as a sustainability expert in India, Latvia, Germany, and Switzerland. This includes her time as a sustainability standards expert at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and at Liepaja University–Circular Economy Centre in Latvia.
Rupal holds an Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degree in environmental science, policy, and management from Central European University in Hungary, the University of the Aegean in Greece, and Lund University in Sweden.
She is based out of Wolfsburg, Germany, and speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi, and basic German.
